Enjoy the Perfect Muskoka Holiday - Stay at a Waterfront Bed and Breakfast

Now you are wondering, "How can staying at a B&B, in somebody else's home, feel like the perfect Muskoka summer holiday?" Here's the deal.

First, picture your ideal summer vacation in Muskoka. I'm just guessing here, but you are probably imagining sleeping in a bit, getting up to the smell of coffee and somebody else making and serving your breakfast. You saunter down to the water for a quick swim and a few minutes on the dock while someone is doing all the dishes.

You are spending this holiday with another couple or two of your choosing. You have booked all the rooms at this bed and breakfast so it's just as if you are staying at your best friend's cottage. This means...

You have selected the location of your choice...in this case Muskoka, one of North America's most sought after destination locationsYou have selected the waterfront bed and breakfast of your choiceYou have selected your holiday companions and you all know each other well

The only thing left to chance is the weather but even if that goes awry you can still have a fabulous time. Just imagine this. After this leisurely breakfast and a quick swim or your coffee on the dock your day might unfold like this.

You decide to head into town to explore the shops. You elect to go on one of the famous steamship tours of Lake Muskoka. You choose to golf at one of the local world-class golf clubs. You are feeling adventurous and you want to go to the local aerial park. You decide to rent a canoe or kayak and spend the day paddling. Of course the B&B will provide you with a picnic lunch to take along and share great ideas about where to go.Waterskiing or wakeboarding has always been on your bucket list and you learn that you can finally give it a go.It's a rainy day and you decide to take in a local matinee...either movie or live theatre. The history buff in you wants to go to Grace and Speed at Muskoka Wharf and discover about the early days in Muskoka and see some great old wooden boats. You're a hiker who just wants to find a local trail and have all day to explore at your leisure. You decide you want to go mountain biking. Of course the B&B has a garage where you can securely store you bikes and a water hose to clean off your bikes when you are done.

And the list goes on and on. And then a little later in the afternoon you just want to go back to the bed and breakfast and either have a nap in peace and quiet or relax on the dock. Maybe there is a great chaise lounge on a porch or a hammock in the shade. Maybe you want to float out on the lake on an air mattress. So now you can. And then...

You have a nice shower before dinner and maybe enjoy a beverage before heading out.You can walk to any restaurant in town or on the Wharf. You can get a cab back to the B&B later or you can drive your own vehicle. You can choose a pizza place, subway sandwich shop, family restaurant, high-end or mid-range restaurant or even a dinner cruise on one of the steamships. Or you can pick up something at the grocery store along with a bottle of wine and take it back to the B&B. Have it on the porch, or on the dock, or on the beach.

No matter where you go you will laugh lots, share the events of your day and plan the next day.

This is the perfect vacation because you are living in a waterfront Muskoka home, getting your breakfast cooked for you, starting your day in, on or near the water and doing whatever you want for the rest of your day... and then doing it all over again the next day.

Your own personalized choice of activities, whether it be from the above suggestions or something else you have in mind, can make your planned Muskoka vacation everything you want it to be.

Or, if you aren't a planner just book the BB, show up and enjoy how your days unfold.
